"How Can I Put It?": Valuart Solos Presents Paul Sears and Oscar Accorsi

From Friday, July 21st-23rd, Valuart Solos is proud to showcase "How Can I Put It?", an IRL exhibition by the visionary duo, Paul Sears and Oscar Accorsi, who are pushing the boundaries of art and language to showcase the beauty and complexity of human communication.

Oscar Accorsi - Bio

At the core of this exhibition, writing is elevated to a visual art form, where abstract lines morph into letters and phrases, resonating with viewers and instigating profound self-reflection — throughout every piece, the artists explore identity, celebrating the limits of mankind in a world filled with alternative realities and artificial intelligence.

CECI N'EST PAS UN APHORISME”, one of six works on display, holds a special place for this duo:

“This started out as an irresistible taunt to Magritte. I have a fantasy of a Belgian adult showing a small child a picture of a pipe, he says "C'est quoi, ça?" and the child says, "C'est une pipe!" to which the adult says "Bravo!" and then the Belgian adult morphs into Rene who answers gleefully, "Mais non, ceci n'est pas une pipe, c'est l'image d'une pipe!" forcing a slightly premature lesson about symbols, language and communication upon the puzzled child.

Oscar and I couldn't keep ourselves from designing an aphorism and asking the same puzzled child the same question.”
__ Paul Sears

Be sure to tune into our latest Valuart podcast episode before the opening on Friday to learn more about Paul and Oscar’s journey, where each perspective evolves into a cohesive artistic narrative — the essence of this project.
