GM, the Valuart Newsletter is out! ☕

This week's highlights include an introduction to Gary Edward Blum’s upcoming Valuart Solos (May 26-28) and a review of last week’s special NEW BLOOD Fakewhale Cross curated drop.

Valuart Solos presents Gary Edward Blum: An IRL Exploration of Pictorial Realities & Dualities

From May 27th to 29th, Valuart Solos proudly showcases Blum's captivating approach with a unique collection that exemplifies his creative process and aesthetics.

Born in Montara, California, Gary Edward Blum is an artist who has dedicated his career to exploring duality through his paintings and photography.

As the grandson of Italian and Swiss immigrants, Blum grew up immersed in stories of exploration and independence. He embarked on a journey to India in 2000 where he was exposed to Eastern philosophy and religion — experiences that now resonate within his work, reflecting themes of dependent opposition and meditation.

Throughout his artistic journey, Blum earned his M.F.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 2002, and a B.A. in Graphic Design from California State University, Chico in 1993. He was also an affiliate artist at the Headlands Center for the Arts from 2015-2017.

His work has been exhibited across the United States and is part of the permanent collections of the Crocker and Monterey Art Museums. It has been reviewed in prestigious publications such as the LA Times, SF Chronicle, and Art in America.

Stay tuned for our upcoming podcast release this week on Wednesday, May 24th, where we explore Blum's rich artistic journey, his transition from painting to photography, and the profound influence of Eastern philosophy on his work. Also, gain insight into his upcoming Valuart Solos exhibition, which beautifully intertwines his unique aesthetic and creative process.

To visit the exhibition, be sure to RSVP at [email protected] by Thursday, May 25th.
